Golf weight training program. In a sport that hardly has any controversies; few issues have come as close to being controversial as golf weight training programs have. More so with amateur and non-professional golfers.

And yet if you really examine the facts, a golf weight training program need not be controversial at all.

Although professionals have now fully embraced the benefit of golf weight training programs, amongst the other golfers golf weight training programs are still looked on with a lot of fear and apprehension. These fears are of course mainly based on ignorance rather than enough solid facts and knowledge.

One of the greatest fears is that some of the golf weight training programs designed to build strength are too strenuous. Others fear that they will develop great big muscles that will make them stiff and yet flexibility is an important attribute for any golfer.

These fears are of course completely unjustified. Most golf weight training programs have been successfully completed by golfers who are as old as 80 years old. Junior golfers barely in their teens have also graduated from the same programs without any problem. Not to mention lady golfers some of who are senior citizens.

Then it is significant to note that golf weight training programs are designed to increase strength and not to body build or build great huge muscles. The use of dumbbells is different for the two different objectives. For example lighter weights are used and they are lifted more times than the case would be for a bodybuilder dealing in much heavier weights.

Many good golf weight training programs involving dumbbells will also include certain stretch exercises using them. Stretch exercises are very good in improving golf swings.

When you take a closer look, golf weight training programs are really not be feared. Rather they should be embraced as they have helped many golfers revolutionize their games.

There is no doubt that the importance of a golf weight training program will continue to rise in the years to come.

If you're fairly new to the world of running an online business, you may be worried that you don't know enough to become a success. You may feel that it will take a lot of new knowledge before you can even begin. This can be quite overwhelming. However, this is not necessarily the case. Let me explain.

If you wanted to become a pianist, how would you go about it? Would you spend months or maybe years, reading books on how to play a piano? Would you listen to people talk about how to play the piano? Would this alone teach you how to play? Ok, so maybe you would read one book and listen to a few people that have already learned to play. Then you start to practice. You take the knowledge from the experts and apply it by practicing. This doesn't make you a master pianist in an instant. You have to practice over and over, adding new skills as you master the last one. This all takes time and effort. But if you really want to learn to play the piano, it's all worth it.

What does this have to do with starting an online business?

Reading and learning about every single aspect of internet marketing can take considerable time. If you where to wait until you knew everything there was to know before starting your business, you would find that things have changed during the time you've been absorbed in learning and you would then have to learn even more.

This is what you should do.  Do spend some time reading and doing research. Make sure that you have just enough information to know that you are working the right area/niche. More importantly, do something. Get started. You will learn on the way, by doing. Yes you will make mistakes, but that really is the best way to learn. If you where learning to play piano, you would make mistakes there too, but you would work at getting it right. You might try a different technique or put in extra practice to get it just right. With an internet business, it's pretty much the same thing. You need to tweak as you go along, adapt and grow your knowledge base as you expand your business.

Don't be afraid.

You may feel unsure because of several factors. Such as new jargon, seemingly difficult technical stuff, many, many new subjects covering marketing, advertising, traffic generation and it goes on and on. You don't need to know everything to make a start and you will learn the rest on the way. By learning from actually doing and experiencing, your learning curve is much higher, but it will not feel like it. Obviously a little bit if know-how is necessary, but just read a free special report on that topic. They are free and available all over the internet. Download what you need, print them off, but don't go and read everything and then some more and then something else before you start.

If you don't understand a particular area, go to a forum and ask questions. These discussion boards are growing at a lightning pace across the net this year. Their popularity has fuelled a new kind of information resource. Priceless. Don't be worried that you will sound dumb. The experts of these boards where just like you once. How do you think they became as knowledgeable as they are? By asking questions and using the answers to grow their business. Posting questions on forums is highly recommended. The people who frequent these places are more than happy to help. "Why?" I hear you ask. By answering questions, it gives that person 'credibility' it gets their name known across the internet as an expert on the subject. It is advertising for then and it's free. The people that will happily answer your questions and help guide you on your way to internet success do so because there is something in it for them. With both of you getting something out of the situation, it must be all good, everyone gets what they need.

Learning takes a long time, can it be speeded up?

It most certainly can, but it will cost. A lot of people that start an online business do so with a budget of almost $0. A successful and highly profitable internet business can be born form this, the disadvantage is, it takes far longer to earn a good income. There is nothing wrong with doing it this way, heck some of today's biggest internet guru's started on a $0 budget, including me.

If you do have some funding, then it will be easier for you to be earning quite quickly. The best thing to do would be to find a mentor. Someone that has already done what you are trying to do. A guide that will teach you and help you to get started. It can be quite tough to go it alone, I know this because that is what I did. A coach would have made my life much, much easier, but I didn't have the $20-$30 a month that I needed for the membership fees. If you are lucky enough to be able to afford this comparatively small outlay, I would highly recommend a mentor. This can save you a great deal of time and you will be making money a lot sooner than if you where to go it alone.

How would a mentor help?

A good mentor will take their student by the hand and guide them through each stage of starting an online business. They will encourage you to get stuck in right from the start. Teaching you that you learn best by doing. Yes, you will make mistakes, but learning from these mistakes and putting them right is all part of the business. All aspects of internet business will be covered as they become appropriate. Introducing new skills and ideas in manageable chunks. Having a good coach can accelerate your online business presence at a respectable rate. You will soon build much confidence and will not need a mentor forever.

Can't afford a mentor?

You can still make it on your own. Don't be afraid of getting your hands on experience, get stuck into it as soon as possible. If you sit there, reading and reading, you may never actually get started. Don't let your dream die before you've given it your best shot. Do what the successful internet guru's have done, learn as you earn. Practice until you get it right. One day soon you will turn around and find out that you know more than you ever thought possible and you learned it in such a short time. You'll think "What was all the fuss about, that wasn't so hard". And you'll remember that it was because you learned most of your lessons on the way.

In conclusion, if you are going to start an internet business, don't let all the knowledge that you have to gain put you off. Don't get stuck down by thinking that you need to learn everything before you can begin. Experience of doing is by far the best and quickest way to learn the ropes. Take it one step at a time and you will find that with practice, you will soon become quite proficient. If you can afford a mentor, do it, the benefits are outstanding. If you can't afford a coach, don't worry, you will get there with persistence. Learn something new, put it into practice, correct any mistakes and learn the next step. Education and training is an ongoing life experience. Not even the internet guru's know it all. They learn new things every day and that is what you must do. So enough with the reading. Go take action today. Until you take the first physical step you have no chance of ever getting where you want to be.

For many years I would go to Phoenix Arizona between Christmas and New Years to visit some relatives and friends. Every year my friend Ray and I would play golf at least 3 times during my stay and every year it would be a contest to see who won the most games.

Over the years, I think we were about equally matched, we each had our good games and bad games, but over all I won more games then Ray did.

One year I won all three game of golf and I could tell that Ray was a little frustrated. The last night of our stay, we met back at Ray's house for supper and Ray said if he couldn't beat me at golf, he'll beat me at Chess. Well, I hadn't played Chess for years, but for some reason, I won all the games and Ray was even more frustrated, but we were still friends.

The following year, Ray called me at home right before I left for Phoenix. He told me our first golf game tee time was the number one spot, early the next morning. After driving to Phoenix, knowing I had to get up early, I made sure I had everything ready for the next morning.

The next morning I drove over to Ray's house and when I got there he was waiting for me and was real eager for us to get going to the golf course. He put his clubs in the car, got in the car and started putting on his golf shoes while I was driving. When we got to the course, he had me drop him off at the club house before I parked the car and said he would meet me at the driving range.

After parking my car I went to the club house, signed in, grabbed a cup of coffee, got my golf cart and drove to the driving range.  By the time I got there, Ray had already gone through his worm up exercises and almost finished hitting most of his practice balls. He then told me to hurry up and put my golf shoes on and take a few practice shots that we had to get going. I ask him why he was in such a rush and he said he just wanted to get started playing.

Normally we would take our time, BS for awhile, joke around and just have fun. But this time was different, Ray was real anxious and focused on getting started and I couldn't help but wonder why. After taking about three practice shots and gulping down my coffee, we drove over to the first hole. Ray said he wanted to tee off first and I said okay because I still needed to stretch and wake up.

Well, I found out why Ray didn't say much and wanted to get started that morning. He teed up, took a couple of practice swings, stepped up to the ball, swung and hit the ball. I watched the ball take off and after it looked like it would level off, it kicked in the after burners and kept on going. It was one of the best shots I had ever seen, on or off television.

After Ray took his shot, I looked at him and ask, when did you learn how to do that. He looked at me with a big grin on his face and said, I have been taking lessons almost every day since you left last year. He said he was so frustrated at himself, that know matter how hard he tried to beat me, it just wasn't enough. So, he said he made himself a new years resolution, that know matter what it took, he was going to learn how to play golf better.

Needless to say, Ray was a lot better then he ever was and for me, well, Ray had to wait for me on almost every green until I got there. So, to answer the question, do golf lessons really help?

I had taken a few lessons, that's why I was able to beat Ray most of the time before.

Did you know that Golf was invented in Scotland?

Golf was invented in Scotland, and dates back to at least the 17th century, possibly even earlier

Article Body:
Golf was invented in Scotland, and dates back to at least the 17th century, possibly even earlier – the name is believed to come from an Old German word, 'gowf', meaning a club or bat. The oldest golf course in the world is Musselburgh Links, but there are many vary old golf courses in Scotland, most famously St. Andrews. It is believed that the reason golf courses today have 18 holes is that St. Andrews only had room for nine, but the early golfers decided to play the course through twice each time.

Golf's Scottish origin is a matter of some controversy among the Dutch, the Chinese and the French, who all claim that they had much similar club-and-ball games much longer ago. While there is no doubting they did, however, it seems clear that there is more to golf than just the club and the ball, and that golf as it is played today was at least perfected, if not entirely invented out of thin air, in Scotland.

Since then, little has really changed about the game. The grass has got shorter and smoother, as lawnmower technology has improved, the wooden clubs have been replaced with metal ones, and the balls have been improved by the addition of rubber, but that's about it.

It wasn't until the 20th century, however, that golf really started to spread all over the world. There were no golf courses in China until 1985, but now there are more than 200. Since the Second World War, golf has become insanely popular in Japan, even though they don't really have the space to build the courses – they have become pioneers of indoor and virtual golf. Today, it is thought that there are over 30,000 golf courses in the world – that's well over a hundred for every country, although some countries obviously have far more courses than others, particularly in the English-speaking world.

You really do need to develop your own golf style. Now, that may seem like an obvious statement, but some beginners think that all they have to do is imitate Tiger Woods' every move and they'll become an instant golf success.

Unfortunately, it's just not that easy. There are no shortcuts to becoming a good golfer.

To begin with, no two people ever swing at a golf ball in exactly the same way. Next time you're at the driving range, stand and watch the rows of people slapping away and you'll quickly see this is absolutely true. Each person has their own unique body build and develops their own individual set of muscles. Therefore, the style of golf played by a person who is large and lanky and swings the club like a hockey player taking a slap shot has a whole different set of muscles than a person who is small and wiry.

Golf will always be an individual sport and finding a style of playing that produces the best results for you will go a long way in determining how much you enjoy playing the game.

With golf, imitation is not necessarily the best form of flattery. If you find yourself trying to copy someone else's style, and you're not having much success, perhaps hiring a professional coach for a few lessons will help you find your own groove and help you make corrections to your swing. Try to hire someone who works with the natural swing that you already have rather than a teacher who tries to teach you general rules that don't necessarily apply to every type of golfer.

It's also a good idea, if you do hire a pro, to make sure that he or she is a top notch player and teacher as well. If they just stand there and watch you swing without actually showing you how to get out of a sand trap, or hit a fade, or the proper way to putt from the fringe, then you're really not getting your money's worth. The best teachers will try to understand your natural abilities first and then adjust their advice to suit your specific needs.

Once you're ready to play a game, it's important not to think too much before taking your shot. I've played with people who stood so long over the ball trying to remember everything their coach taught them, you wondered how they ever got through 18 holes. It's impossible to make a shot while trying to think of a dozen things like your grip, where your feet are, where the ball is, keeping your eye on the ball, keeping your head straight, and so on. If you make a bad shot, don't fret. You'll get another chance to take that shot again, so get on with it an always try to use your natural way of doing things. The worst thing you can do is to keep changing your style just because you had a bad game.

As you're learning the game, however, there are some fundamental principles that need to be observed.

Here are two basic tips to help you improve your personal game.

An important foundation you need no matter what shot you're making, no matter what club you're using, is balance. You must keep your balance when you strike the ball.

And remember, of course, to always keep your eye on the ball. Make sure your stance allows you to see the ball from every point of the stroke.

Take your time and develop your own methods that work best for you. Unless you're playing golf for a living, you have all the time in the world to get it right.

Like everything else in life, golf takes time and practice and if you're patient and try doing everything as natural as possible, in no time you'll get your first birdie, and then your first chip in for par, and before you know it, you'll be breaking 80 on a regular basis.

The woman golfer has a myriad of questions on how to develop the correct golf swing as does most any amateur. The questions from woman golfers center on a myriad of topics such as; how to hit the golf ball farther, how to develop a more repeatable golf swing, how do I hit half shots with my wedges, what are good putting drills? The list can go on and on in relation to the woman golfer and how to improve their golf swing. An area that is now presenting more and more questions from the woman golfer centers upon golf fitness. Questions such as; what are good golf flexibility exercises, and how can golf fitness exercises help me drive the golf farther? These and many more questions are arising in relation to golf fitness and the woman golfer.

It is well known on the LPGA tour the number of players utilizing golf fitness programs to improve their golf game. Annika Sorrenstam has publicly stated the benefits she has received in her golf game from golf fitness training. One area that always appears to be a concern for the woman golfer is distance. How to hit the golf ball farther and Sorrenstam does hit the ball a long way, and utilizes golf fitness training. A simple connection can be drawn between increased driving distance, women golfers, and golf fitness exercises. The bottom line is this; golf fitness exercises can benefit the distance of drives for the woman golfer.

The questions that need to be answered are how and why. First off an understanding of increased distance, the golf swing, and the woman golfer needs to be addressed. Driving distance is contingent upon clubhead speed. The faster the clubhead is traveling at impact with the golf ball. The golf ball will travel farther, an easily understood concept.

Clubhead speed in the golf swing is contingent upon two components. Component number one is golf swing mechanics. The biomechanics of the golf swing in and of themselves create clubhead speed. It centers upon physics and the coiling/uncoiling of the body during the golf swing. In relation to improving clubhead speed and golf swing mechanics. The more efficient the woman golfer performs the mechanics of the golf swing. A greater amount of energy can be developed and transferred into the golf ball as a result. First and foremost for the woman golfer; the development of efficient golf swing mechanics can improve driving distance.

The second component of increasing clubhead speed is the body. Remember, the body is the implement swinging the golf club. It is the woman's body executing the biomechanics of the golf swing. In addition it is also the body generating power for the golf swing. Power is the ability of the body to generate the greatest amount of force in a short amount of time. Increase the ability of the body to generate more power within the biomechanics of the golf swing. An increase in clubhead speed can occur. How does the woman golfer increase power outputs of their body? This is where the implementation of golf fitness exercises can be a benefit. Golf fitness exercises can increase the power outputs of the body. Power golf fitness exercises increase the ability of your muscles to develop more force within the golf swing.

How do golf fitness exercise achieve this outcome? Golf fitness exercises develop the body around the golf swing: Very different than ordinary fitness training or aerobic classes. Golf fitness exercises develop the required flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power within the body for the golf swing. This allows the body to execute the biomechanics of the golf swing correctly. In addition, golf fitness exercises can improve the swing in areas such as clubhead speed.

This is accomplished with golf fitness exercises training the body in the positions, movements, and physical requirements of the golf swing. This allows for the proper levels of flexibility, balance, endurance, strength, and power to be developed within the body. Improving the capacities of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power can improve the ability of the body to perform the golf swing and increase distance.

To summarize, the questions surrounding women and developing the correct golf swing are many. How to improve the golf swing through golf fitness exercises is one of these questions, and one specific area within this topic is distance. Increasing distance is contingent upon increasing clubhead speed. Improving clubhead speed centers upon golf swing mechanics and the body. Improving the efficiency of the golf swing mechanics will allow a greater transfer of energy into the golf club, thus improving clubhead speed. The second component of distance lies within the body and its ability to generate power. Increasing the power outputs of the body will enhance clubhead speed. Power outputs of the body can be improved through golf fitness exercises. These exercises differ than normal gym based exercises in that they develop the body around the swing. This allows for the proper levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power to be developed within the golf swing.

Golf is replete with myths. Covering everything from driving to course management, these myths are passed down from father to son, some in the form of golf tips on swing mechanics, others in the form of wise advice on how to do things. Unfortunately, many of these myths are just plain wrong.

Below are three popular myths I like to debunk in my golf lessons and golf tips. One or two of them may have an element of truth in them. The other may have no truth in it at all. Regardless, all of them embody ideas that can elevate scores and boost golf handicaps.

1.Aim at the Target
We've all heard this statement before. Maybe even said it. The statement isn't so much mythic as it is confusing. The question is, aim what at the target? Your clubface? Your shoulders? Your body? The statement doesn't really say.

The problem with this myth is that it can cause people to misalign themselves in one of two ways, hurting his or her golf handicap.

• aiming the feet, hips, knees, and shoulders directly at the target, leaving the clubface following a line well right of the target; or,

• aiming to compensate for ballflight errors, like when you aim left to compensate for the ballflight error of a slice (for right handers).

When aimed correctly, the leading edge of the clubface sits at a right angle to the target line while your body aligns parallel-left of the target line. This set up establishes perfect parallel alignment. This position doesn't come naturally. So you need to work on it on the range to recognize when you're aiming correctly on the course.

Here's a drill I use in my golf instruction sessions. First, pick a target and lay one club down on the ground a few feet in front of the ball, but on the target line. Then, take a second club and lay it down parallel to the first but along your toe line to indicate body alignment. Make adjustments as necessary. Finally, hit a few balls and see what happens. After awhile you'll have trained your body and eyes to accept this new alignment.

2.As the swing gets longer, it gets faster
If you're like most golfers, you swing the driver faster than the 7-iron or 8-iron. Most of us invariably ramp up our swing speed with longer clubs because we envision hitting the ball harder and driving it farther. It's a natural tendency, one I often see when giving golf lessons.

Unfortunately, when you ramp up your swing speed, you destroy your natural swing tempo—the total amount of time it takes to create your swing from beginning to end. That's not good. When you start varying your swing's tempo from club to club, you destroy the timing required to hit consistent golf shots. It's one reason why you feel that you can hit your irons well one-day but not your woods, and vice versa.

All of us have our own swing tempo. Some of us have a fast tempo, like Nick Price. Some of us have a slower tempo, like Fred Couples. Either way is fine, as long as you keep the same tempo for each club in the bag. It's not something you control. If it takes two seconds to hit the pitching wedge, it should take you two seconds to hit the driver. Practice consistent tempo with all your clubs and you'll hit consistent shots.

3.Play the ball back with shorter clubs
Most of us vary ball position as we change clubs. The shorter the club, the farther back we position the ball. But incorrect ball positioning can create major problems. With the ball positioned too far forward, our shoulders tend to align too far left of forward. Since your club swings where our shoulders point, we slice. With the ball positioned too far back, our shoulders tend to close, encouraging a push or a hook.

While you should position the ball more forward for the driver than the pitching wedge, you should never place the ball farther back than center for any normal shot with a level lie, regardless of the club you're using.

Remember, for normal shots on level lies, there are just three basic ball positions;

• Short iron: one inch left of center
• Mid-irons: two inches left of center
• Long irons & woods: three inches left of center.

In addition, always relate the position of the ball to your upper body, not your toes. Using your toes can create the illusion that the ball is positioned correctly when in fact it isn't. For example, if you use your toes to position the ball with your foot flared out but then close up your foot, the ball seems to move forward in your stance, when it actually hasn't.

These are just three of the more popular golf myths that exist, many of which I address in my golf lessons and golf tips. There are lots more. Unfortunately, many of them are just plain wrong.

So be wary of them. And don't be afraid to challenge them. Even if you're wrong, the worse thing that can happen is that you can learn something valuable about the game of golf.

The controversy stems from interpreting where the ball last crossed the water's edge. Since the decision affects where you take a drop, it makes sense to have a good understanding of the rule, especially if a match is on the line or your working on a personal best.

The Rules
Golf's rules define a water hazard as "any sea, lake, pond, river, ditch, surface draining ditch, or other open water course (whether or not containing water), and anything of a similar nature." Courses mark water hazards with yellow stakes and lines. But the rules don't stop there, as I mention in my golf tips and during my golf lessons; they also discuss a lateral water hazard.

The rules define a "later water hazard" as part of a water hazard "so situated that it is not possible, or is deemed by the committee to be impracticable, to drop a ball behind the water hazard in accordance with Rule 26-1b." In other words, it's a water hazard that doesn't lie between the tee and the green. The course marks these off by red stakes or lines.

The Remedies
If you hit into water you do one of four things:

1.You can play the ball as near as possible to the spot from which the original ball was played.

2.You can drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the ball entered the water's edge, directly behind the hole and the spot where the ball is dropped. There's no limit to how far back the ball may be dropped, as long as the point of crossing lies between the drop and the hole.

3.You can play the ball as it lies in the water hazard.

4.If a ball goes into a lateral water hazard, you can drop a ball away from the hazard but within two club lengths of the point from which the ball last crossed the water. However, the ball can't come to rest any closer to the hole than the point at which the original ball crossed the hazard.

The Controversy
A major source of controversy is establishing where the ball last crossed the hazard, not where the ball entered the water, which could be relevant in situations in which where a ball lands on the ground, then rolls back into the water.

The easiest way to deal with this type of problem is to determine the point where the ball was last on, or over, dry land, before it crossed the hazard. Next, determine if the point is between the red or yellow stakes. If it is, you can decide on the best course of action from that spot.

The additional dropping option for a lateral water hazard, however, means that the ball can sometimes be dropped on either side of the hazard, as long as it is within two club lengths of where the ball crossed the edge of the hazard and no closer to the hole. That can make a difference when you finally determine where to drop the ball. Unfortunately, no golf instruction can help you make that decision.

Hitting out of the water is rarely an option—and it's not a choice I recommend in my golf lessons and golf tips—but it has been known to happen. Payne Stewart chose to play the ball from a water hazard during the final hole of his 1989 Ryder Cup Match with Jose Maria Olazabal. The attempt failed and he lost the hole and the match. Think carefully before choosing this option.

Grounding the Club
If a player chooses to hit from the water hazard, he or she can't ground the club at any stage of address. Grounding the club may be unintentional, but it's still a breach of the rules and subjects the player to a penalty—two-strokes in medal play and the loss of the hole in match play. The rule resembles that covering the grounding of a club in a bunker.

Knowing the rules governing water hazards won't necessarily lower your golf handicap. But it will give you an idea your remedies next time you hit into the water. Since you can be penalized for violating the rules, think carefully before deciding. If you're in a tournament and you're confused about what to do, don't hesitate to talk with officials.

In some of my golf tips I tell the story about playing a course which had severe fairway undulations. I could see where the course would be discouraging for recreational golfers. I seldom had a flat lie on the course. In fact, it was so hilly, I was almost always hitting from some kind of slope. More often than not, I was hitting down hill.

If you've ever played a course like this—and you probably have—you know how tricky hitting from a downhill lie can be. It's especially difficult for recreational golfers, who are sometimes intimidated by a downhill slope and/or have little experience hitting from this type of lie. The resulting effort isn't pretty and does nothing to lower the player's golf handicap.

Hitting from a downhill slope is primarily a matter of making the right adjustments. I cover these in my golf lessons and golf tips but, obviously, there's nothing like hitting from a down hill slope to learn how to do it.

Here are the 4 adjustments I recommend:

Tailor set-up for slope
Position ball back in stance
Swing with the slope
Chase ball down the slope

Keep two things in mind when faced with a downhill lie: (1) a shot from a down slope tends to fade right and (2) the slope affects the club's loft.

The tendency to fade is a by-product of the slope. There's little you can do about it. Even if you hit the ball perfectly, it will tend to fade right, so learn to deal with it as best you can, as I emphasize in my golf lessons.

Club loft is different. You can deal with it easily enough. On a steep slope, hitting a 7-iron becomes more like hitting a 5-iron, necessitating an adjustment in club selection depending on how far you are from the green. How much of an adjustment is hard to say. And golf instruction sessions don't help, either. Only personal experience can tell you just how much to make.

Also, tailor your set up to the slope. That means making sure your spine is perpendicular to the slope and your weight on your front foot, a weight distribution you must maintain throughout the backswing. As a result, your shoulders will tilt downward to match the lie of the land. These changes ensure clean contact with the ball, positioned toward the back of the stance.

Another problem with downhill lies is trajectory. To generate height, hit down and with the slope, as if you're chasing the ball downhill. Chase it for as long as possible by forcing your right shoulder to follow the ball to the target.

Also, don't let the transfer of weight get out of control at impact. Stay as balanced as possible, finishing the swing with a nice, smooth follow-through. Clearing your left hip as you swing down and through the ball helps with the follow-through.

These changes in your set-up and swing, as I point out in my golf lessons, almost mirror those needed for uphill lies.

With uphill lies, the weight is on the back foot, the ball is positioned forward in the stance, and the tendency is to pull the ball left, which is caused by a golfer's hands getting overactive through impact. Also, concentrate on making a wide takeaway. This change counteracts the tendency to narrow your backswing, which often occurs on an uphill lie.

Whether uphill or downhill, you must control weight transfer and you must swing down and with the slope. You also must control your head, keeping it behind the ball at the point of impact.

If you make the changes I recommend in this golf tip the next time you play a hilly course, you'll find yourself hitting better shots from a sloped fairway. You'll also find yourself developing more and more confidence playing a hilly course—and confidence never hurt anyone's golf handicap.

Slicing the ball is a common problem among golfers. A slice is when the ball travels from one direction to the other [depending on the left or right-handedness of the golfer], generally not in the direction you want it to go. This contrariness of the ball not to go straight toward the hole is the bane of the golfing world.

Correcting a golf slice is not difficult, but may require plenty of practice, patience and more practice.

There are three ways to correct a slice. Hire a golf instructor, purchase some DIY books and/or grab a golfing buddy to follow you around the fairways and tell you what you're doing wrong.

In the meantime, practice these simple guidelines in the backyard or out on the course.

1. Line your feet up correctly - square yourself up with your feet approximately shoulder width apart and the golf ball about half way between them

2. Point your leading shoulder in the direction of the hole. Wherever your shoulder points is where the ball will go

3. Keep your swing even and relaxed, knees slightly bent. Don't try to hit the golf ball too hard, jab at it or over-correct

4. Head should be down and eyes fixed on the ball. Don't look to see where the ball is going, your aim should already be lined up with your body positioning. Lifting your head will destroy your aim

5. Always remember to follow through. When the ball is hit and the club is over your head, then you can look up

Afterward, don't forget to shout your golf buddy some liquid refreshment at the clubhouse. Important tips can be traded and your golf slice discussed with all the minutiae a relaxing cold drink allows.

You probably have heard the term core training for golfers, but do you know what it means and how to implement it into your golf performance routine?

Your core is the middle section of your body…specifically your abdominal region.  If your core is weak or restricted in rotational flexibility, you will have a minimal chance at hitting long drives.

I see this all the time in the senior golfer.  No core strength or flexibility, resulting in  a HUGE decrease in yardage off the tee.  The senior golfer will say things like, "I've lost so much yardage off the tee the past few years";  "I use to hit my drives 50 yards further"; "If I could only get 20 more yards I'd be happy".

This can be a very frustrating situation; but one that can be remedied easily, quickly and in the convenience of your home with minimal equipment.  Improving your core rotational strength and flexibility does not require equipment in a gym or club.

You can do exercises as simple as grabbing a single handweight, getting in your golf posture, and rotating back and through holding the handweight in front of your stomach.  You can also do stretches right in your office chair.  Sitting upright and reaching around your chair, turning as far as you can to the right, then turning to the left.

These are just some very basic core training for golfers exercises, but they would give you a "kickstart" into doing a complete program for your core.

You will be amazed at how much power you acquire in your swing when you implement a core training for golfers program.  Even if that's all you did for the time-being, you'd be way ahead of the game.

But my guess is once you start slow and easy, you'll get the "runners high" and want to do more.  This does not have to be a gut-busting routine!  You can spend as little as 10 minutes a couple of times a week and see results.

Don't put it off any longer!

Start your core training for golfers today!

A core golf workout that produces a power golf swing is one that focuses on rotation.  The primary movement in the golf swing is rotating your upper body back, then rotating it through to the finish.  That is why it is critical you implement exercises that involve rotational strength and flexibility

There is a lot of confusion with golfers on what to focus on when trying to improve power in the golf swing.  Your power comes from your core.  Just like in any other sport, your core is the engine to the swing.

Participating in a core golf workout for more power in your golf swing does not take fancy equipment or for that matter a lot of time.  Getting creative with what you have laying around your house or even your office will do just fine.

A good example is at your office.  Your sitting in your chair in front of your computer and your back gets stiff.  Don't just let it get stiffer, do a rotational stretch right there on the spot in your chair.  Reach around the back of your chair with one hand, and leverage the other hand against your thighs to rotate as far as you can.  Hold it for 10 seconds and go to the other side.

How simple was that?  Try it right now as you're reading this article!

That would be considered one exercise for your core golf workout that will improve your power golf swing.

Do this several times a day, and try to rotate farther each time you do it.  You'll notice you can go much farther the more you do it.

How about a strength exercise for your core?

Get creative.  Grab anything you have in your home or office that you can hold in your hands.  While sitting or standing, extend your arms straight out in front of you and while looking straight ahead, rotate with your arms as far as you can to the right holding this object.  Now rotate to the left.  Do this a total of 20 times.

You'll notice you will be able to rotate farther and farther after each rotation!

How hard was that?  No gym.  No fancy equipment.  Just a can of soup, or even a half gallon of milk.  If you've got some hand weights gathering dust, that's even better.  Try to increase your weight as time goes on.

Hopefully you're getting the idea of what a core golf workout is that will improve your power golf swing quickly.

As a golfer, always pay attention to the physical requirements of the golf swing.  What position your body is in.  What movement your body goes through.  And at what rate of speed.

When you approach your golf exercise and golf stretching program with this mindset you're on your way to a power golf swing that will be the envy of your foursome.

Article Body:
The core golf strength, unknown to many enthusiasts of the game is the conditioning and strengthening of the muscles in your body, which you use to play golf. The weaker and unprepared this core golf strength is, the weaker your game of golf will be.

But let us explain why this should be the core golf strength of any player, whether amateur or professional. The game of golf involves extremely unnatural movements for the human body.

This is one of the reasons why the golf swing is so difficult to master. It is simply because even as you try you best to get your swing right, the natural; tendencies of your body and the muscles is against your efforts.

It therefore makes a lot of sense to exercise and condition those muscles because as you strengthen them to deal with the golf swing for example, the movement will come more naturally to you. The inevitable result is that your golf game will improve dramatically.

And it will all be because of your respect for the core golf strength. Many golfers believe that the core golf strength is something else. Maybe swing technique, or even experience.

The result is that their golf game gets more frustrating by the day as they struggle to work on the wrong core golf strength that will end up having very little impact if any, on the quality of their game.

The other reason the real core golf strength is shunned or ignored by most is the fact that many amateur golfers dread the mere thought of exercise. The thought of dripping sweat and rigorous exercise is terrifying to many who have taken to this so-called gentleman's game.

So terrifying that they hardly bother to find out the details about the nature of the exercises or why senior citizens with back problems manage them so well that they sometimes even end up eliminating some nagging physical pains like persistent back pains.

Those are some of the reasons why this core golf strength remains undiscovered by many.

Article Body:
Core flexibility training is critical if you want to improve your golf swing power and driving distance.  Your core is the engine to your swing.  If your core is inflexible you will not be able to make a full backswing with minimal tension.

Picture your core being the middle of your body.  That's as simple as you can get it.  It is mainly your abdominals, but can also include glutes and lower back.  This area of your body is the most susceptible to injury.

That's why the majority of amateur golfers have a low back injury at some point in their golfing career.  They have never focused on core flexibility training, as well as core strength training for more power.

To produce more power and distance in your swing does not mean swinging harder with your arms.  Haven't you tried that before?  If so, did you hit it farther?  I'll bet not.

Just like hitting a baseball, tennis ball are even throwing the discus in track and field, you use your core for most of your power.  You rotate with your core to create torque, then you unleash that stored up energy into the hit, whether it be a baseball, tennis ball or golf ball.

The more efficient you become with using your core, arms, shoulders and hands in a sequenced motion, the added distance will come quite easy.  You'll be shocked at how quickly your driving distance goes up.

Core flexibility training incorporates "rotation".  Golf stretching in this manner warrants the best results in the shortest amount of time!

Every core flexibility stretch you do should involve some form of rotating.  This is very important since the golf swing is a rotate (turn) back and a rotate (turn) forward.  The more range of motion you can achieve in your core area the more power you will produce.

Here's a little test you can do while your sitting there reading this article!

Put your arms across your chest, keep your eyes focused straight ahead.  Now rotate as far as you can to the right and make a not of how far it is.  Did you get to a 90 degree shoulder turn (that's where you need to be).  Then rotate as far as you can to the left.  How far did you get.

This will be a "wake-up" call for many of you.  If you find you can't rotate at least 70 degrees of center, you'll have no chance at maximizing your power and driving distance.

We do this simple core flexibility test seated to remove cheating of the lower body.  If you were standing, it would be very easy to rotate your hips and get a bigger shoulder rotation.

Being seated removes this compensation!

A seated rotation is "true" core flexibility and range of motion.

I hope I've educated you on the importance of core flexibility training to improve golf swing power and distance.
